I have over thirty years of diverse and engaging facilitation experience and have been leading creative writing workshops since 2007.
I’m in a transition season. After many years of leading community-based writing workshops through Green Windows: Art of Interchange and working in community-based organizations, I’m building the next chapter of my creative, facilitation, and nonprofit work here in Santa Cruz, California.
Pen & Signal is emerging slowly and intentionally — a space where I can bring together everything I’ve learned about writing, community, and the systems that support people. For now, that means a small number of workshops, some exploratory offerings, and the beginnings of a new creative practice.
My work has always lived at the intersection of writing and social impact. I’ve facilitated for youth, incarcerated teens, and people experiencing poverty; supported organizations through strategy, operations, and cultural change; and learned again and again how much people can teach each other when we make room for honesty and curiosity.
I’m glad you’re here while this next piece takes shape.
I ran Green Windows: Art of Interchange for 12 years in Oakland — there is lots of information on that website about my creative writing workshops.
